The Songbird's Melody

At morning hush the songbird wakes,
Its tiny harp the silence breaks,
Each trembling trill like silver crests,
It pours soft joy upon my chest.

It knits the dawn with notes that gleam,
And scatters gold along the stream,
Hearts lean close to catch the plea,
As ripples echo out to sea.

When evening tucks the light away,
It hums the hush that ends the day,
A lantern-voice that warms the night,
Leaves peace to bloom in soft, kind light.
