Introduction
Indonesian Es Teler is a refreshing and indulgent dessert drink that combines a mix of fruits, coconut, and sweetened condensed milk. Ingredients
For the Fruit Mix:
- 1 young coconut, flesh scraped into strips
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 1 small jackfruit, sliced thinly
- 2 tbsp nata de coco (coconut gel), optional
- 1 tbsp basil seeds (soaked in water for 10 minutes)
For the Syrup:
- 100g palm sugar or brown sugar
- 200ml water
- 2 pandan leaves, knotted (optional)
For Serving:
- 200ml sweetened condensed milk
- Crushed ice
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine palm sugar, water, and pandan leaves. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Let it cool, then remove the pandan leaves. Set aside.
Step 2: Assemble the Fruits
In individual serving bowls, layer the young coconut strips, diced avocado, jackfruit slices, nata de coco, and soaked basil seeds.
Step 3: Add the Syrup and Ice
Drizzle the cooled syrup evenly over the fruits in each bowl. Top with a generous amount of crushed ice.
Step 4: Finish with Condensed Milk
Pour sweetened condensed milk over the ice and fruits. Stir gently before serving to combine all the flavors.
