Turkey Meatballs in Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1-1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the meatballs and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring it to a simmer.
- Add the browned meatballs back into the skillet, cover, and let them cook in the sauce for another 10-15 minutes, until cooked through.
- Serve hot over pasta, rice, or enjoy on their own with crusty bread!
